Artist Biography
Frederick Cruickshank was a Scottish artist who specialised in watercolour and miniature portrait paintings. He studied under miniaturist Andrew Robertson (1777-1845).
Cruickshank spent most of his working life in England, living mainly in Manchester. Here he painted portraits and also worked as an art tutor. Both of his daughters Grace and Catherine Cruikshank became artists and are listed as Royal Academy exhibitors.
