An atmospheric watercolour painting by the artist Frederick Boisseree, depicting a rural scene with two figures walking down a country lane and a cottage in the distance. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. The artist's name and location are inscribed on the reverse. Well-presented in a wash line card mount and in a gilt-effect frame. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor scuffs to the frame, otherwise in good condition.

Artist Biography
Frederick Boisseree flourished in the 1870s, and was a British artist who specialised in watercolour landscapes, mostly of Welsh scenes. He is know to have lived in Betwys-y-Coed in North Wales.
