Using charcoal, red chalk, graphite and watercolour, Josse has utilised mediums to create depth to the features of the model.

Artist Biography
Born in Nantes, France in 1910, Francois Xavier Josse was a French painter and sculptor who specialised in life drawings of nude female models.
He studied at Beaux-Arts in Nantes before moving to Paris to further his studies at the Academies of the Grand-Chaumière and the Colarossi Academy in 1930. A retrospective of his work was organised in Paris in 1989.
