Description

A very finely struck etching depicting the Arch of Titus at the Roman Forum. Inscription in Italian and French reads 'View of the arch of Titus which was erected by the Senate of Roman people for the remembrance of having conquered Jerusalem'. Presented in a washline mount and distress effect silver gilt frame. Signed in plate.
On laid.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are some minor areas of undulation to the substrate. The plate line i hidden beneath the mount. Minor marks to the frame.
