Upper edge of paper shows some minimal wear.Francesco Galí. Barcelona 1880 - 1965. A Spanish painter and educator. He studied at the Llotja School and was a pupil of Alexandre de Riquer in the art of etching. It was also dedicated to art education, founding a school in Barcelona in 1906, as a reaction against traditional methods of teaching. Among his students were Joan Miró and Josep Llorens I Artigas. He was appointed artistic adviser to the Universal Exhibition of 1929. During the Spanish Civil War he served as Director General of Fine Arts of the Republic. He was exiled to London in 1939.
