Mountains shadow castle ruins in this fine mid-century watercolour. The peaceful scene has been beautifully presented in an ornate gilt-effect frame with acanthus leaf mouldings and two centre cartouches. Unsigned. On paper.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some even discolouration and light scuffing to the lower edge. The ornate frame is in very good condition with only a few areas of stable cracking.
