An impressive 19th Century oil painting depicting a young girl leading a blind man through a Victorian street scene. The artist's delicate brush work and muted colour palette displays a clear proficiency for the oil medium. There is craquelure and substantial paint loss to the lower edge which has been retouched. With minor surface scratches and a large loss to the lower left edge of the frame which has been filled and retouched, as shown.
