A dramatic maritime painting depicts fishing vessels battling turbulent seas, with a prominent sailboat in the foreground leaning dramatically as the men on board haul in their catch. The painting is well presented in a 20th century gilt-effect frame. Illegibly signed to the lower left, with a further illegible inscription verso, possibly indicating the title. On canvas.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Two tears in the canvas have been patched and repaired verso. Light soiling/discolouration to the varnish layer. There is craquelure to the surface. Small chips and scuffs to the gilt effect frame. The overall condition of the artwork is good.
