Description
A charming late 19th century oil in the folk art style, depicting All Saints Churchyard in Waterlooville. The artist has beautifully captured two evergreen yews on either side of a dusty footpath, with a view to green fields beyond. Unsigned. The painting is well presented in a gilt slip and frame with a delicate laurel branch running pattern. Fix to the reverse of the frame is an original framers label. On canvas board.Condition
Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Visible along the lower left edge is one small pinhole mark to the canvas. Signs of wear to the gilt frame, including stable cracking and scuffing to the gilt paint.
