This turn of the century painting depicts a breathtaking view across the British countryside with a single figure resting in the grass verge. Dappled shade dances on the country lane from large woodland trees in summer sun. The composition has been initialled and dated (1902) to the lower right. Well-presented in a simple gilt-effect frame. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Slight undulation noticeable in the canvas and wear to the corners of the painting. Light scuffs and marks visible on the gilt-effect frame.
