An expressive portrait of an elderly and disheveled gentleman. He wears a large red neckerchief and lopsided hat, as he smokes a cigarette. Well presented in a gilt effect frame with white slip. Inscribed indistinctly on the reverse in Italian "Authentic...The Peasant". Signed illegibly. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Overall the condition is good. There is a small loss to the inner gilt beading and some minor marks to the frame. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
