A quaint study of a recumbent hare situated within a landscape setting. Tight and direct brushwork accurately described the animal, whilst darker tones of umber and greens set a contemplative mood within the painting.
Affixed to the rear is a label reading 'Charles Roberson & Co.' an artist material manufacturer dating back to 1810.
The artwork is well presented in a dark wood frame with a jilted inner border.
Unsigned. On Canvas Board.The painting is in good condition, especially considering its age. There is some slight discolouration to the paint. The frame has some wear, scuffs and marks. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
