A fine 19th-century oil executed in the style of the Dutch Golden Age. A rearing white stallion is being tamed by its red-coated, sword-bearing rider, with strong light falling through an arched stable window. Housed in a gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. On metal plate.Condition
Minor surface marks and abrasions to the oil. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of previous restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. The artwork is in very good condition for its age.
