This charming Victorian oil depicts a young girl innocently playing by a pond with ducks. The child can be seen grasping a long stick in her left hand, enticing the paddling birds closer. The artist has paid particular attention to the scene's luscious foliage and reflection of light in the water. Well-presented in a stylish black frame with a plain gilt slip. Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration cause by a fine layer of dirt on the canvas. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There are several light marks and scratches to the black gloss frame.
