A finely painted heraldic armorial crest in the historical colours gules & azure. Contained inside the shield is a single bend ordinary with three star charges and two opposing crowns. A large cartouche with knights helmet and sword holds it own at the top of the design in a royal mass of scrolling acanthus. A red ribbon floats below the military symbol, containing the Latin motto 'Either do it perfectly or do not attempt it at all'. Unsigned. The illustration comes well presented in a glazed black frame. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the paper and light scratches to the black frame. Otherwise in a good condition.
