A charming late 18th-century Georgian watercolour depicting a governess calming a quarrel between two siblings. The intimate scene unfolds against a serene woodland backdrop with classical architectural elements. Beautifully presented behind glass in an antique gilt frame with beaded moulding. This piece was acquired alongside its companion work 'Music Lesson with The Governess' (ST538). On paper.
Condition
Even discolouration to the watercolour. Minor wear noted to the frame, enhancing its patina. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
