Framed 18th Century Oil - Adoration of the Magi

A fine 18th-century devotional work depicting the Adoration of the Magi. The scene depicts the three wise men (Magi) from the East visiting the infant Jesus, after following the star to Bethlehem, and presenting him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. The Madonna is seen presenting the Christ Child to the kneeling kings, with the retinue of magi and soldiers on the left. The painting is well presented in a rich gilt-effect frame. Unsigned. Signs of wear consistent with age. Minor surface marks and abrasions to the copper plate. A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals several small areas of overpainting (lower third). The frame has minor surface wear. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
