There are two 7cm closed tears to the canvas that have been filled and touch up. There is some discolouration and craquelure. There are vertical cracks to the varnish at the edges where the canvas has rested against the stretchers. In the lower left there is some later handwritten text , possibly in crayon. Losses to decorative mouldings on the frame have been filled and touched up with gilt paint.
