This accomplished watercolour study depicts an old stone water mill on the verge of a woodland river. The style and subject of this piece suggests that it was completed by a close follower of David Cox Jr, whose distinctive painting style was imitated frequently in the mid 19th century by his contemporaries. There is light foxing and there has been as small tear that has been repaired to the upper left. Some small scratches and light scuffing to the frame.
