Flemish School 18th Century Oil - Punting Across the River

Description

A tranquil 18th century Flemish School painting depicting two peasants at the water's edge preparing to punt across the river. The work is beautifully presented in an ornate gilt frame and remains unsigned. On canvas.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. The canvas has been previously relined. A tear in the canvas has also been patched to the reverse. Inspection under UV light reveals light restoration and retouching. Minor dirtying to the surface of the painting. Small chips and stable cracking to the frame moulding. The overall condition of the artwork is good.
