A wonderful 19th-century oil portrait of a graceful Victorian lady. The lady is pictured with a dainty lace collar and a neat hairstyle typical of the time. Signed illegibly in pencil verso. Also inscribed 'Jane Sy...' verso. Beautifully presented in a gilt oval frame with acanthus ornaments and delicate running patterns to the inner and outer edges. On board.
Condition
There are small abrasions to the face and the upper left corner. Overall, the condition is good. Some wear to the frame, including stable cracking, some scuffing and small losses to the ornaments.
