A charming study by celebrated artist Ferdinand Heilbuth (1826–1889). Despite the loose, sketchy style, the careful consideration of movement and figures found in his finished works is clearly evident. The work is signed to the lower right, and is well presented in a gilt frame with a plaque affixed to the lower edge. On panel.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. Very minor wear to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
