Eugeniusz, or Eugene Pichell (1905-1976) was a Polish printmaker and painter. After working as a graphic designer for magazines, he joined the Polish army in 1939 and fought in the Polish Campaign and defence of Warsaw, where he was taken prisoner by the German army. It was in the prisoner of war camps that he first began to make woodcuts, creating, among other things, postage stamps and camp cards.
After the war, Pichell settled in Opole, making woodcuts, industrial designs, drawings and posters. He became a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers.
