Ernest Llewellyn Hampshire (1882-1944) - Signed Original Early 20th Century Etching. Signed and titled in pencil to lower margin. Laid on card. Signed. On wove. Discolouration to outer edges from previous mount, but main image remains unaffected and is in fine condition.

Ernest Hampshire was a landscape painter in oil and watercolour, etcher and architect. He was born at East Dulwich on 16th June 1882. He studied at Clapham School of Art, Heatherley's, the Central School of Arts and Crafts, and in Cornwall under J. Noble Barlow. He exhibited between 1907 and 1938 at the RA, R.I., R.O.I., in the provinces and at the Paris Salon and also at the Walker Art Gallery. Reference: Grant M. Waters.
