This exquisite floral still life features a lavish bouquet of mixed blooms including roses, peonies, and other garden flowers in vibrant hues of red, pink, blue, yellow, and white, all rendered against a dramatic dark background. The composition takes inspiration from Dutch masters, using a chiaroscuro effect to illuminate the vibrancy of the flowers; however, the bouquet style and unique viewpoint liken the painting to English still life studies.

Some light marks and abrasions to the surface of the painting. There is some craquelure to the surface. Light wear to the gilt frame.
