A very charming 19th century folk art portrait of a young child holding a whip. The artist has caught the figure in a delightful blue dress with ruffled sleeves, black boots and white socks. Beautifully presented in an antique rosewood frame with original hanger and gilt slip. Unsigned. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the watercolour. There is a small loss to the glazing in the lower right corner.
