An amazingly vibrant and crisp mid 19th Century watercolor view of the Campanile in Venice, viewed from the water of the Grand Canal. The artist has used crisp shadows to create wonderfully precise areas of architectural detail, offset by the soft forms of the towering clouds.
The painting has been signed in the lower left corner and presented in a very fine contemporary frame with swept and pierced corners and rail. The frame has glazing and is finished with a fine gilt mount that has a printed inscription of the painting's location and artist.
On wove.The painting is in truly remarkable condition for its age with virtually no discolouration. The frame is in fine condition. There is a slight watermark to the gilt at the top right of the mount.
