Two labourers bend to their work amid a never-ending wall of quarry stone. The palette stays close throughout: warm terracottas and dusty pinks across the rock face, with the white shirts and the green and blue clothing lifting the figures clear of their surroundings. The painting is signed to the lower left and dated 1936. On canvas.
Condition
Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. Light abrasion noted to the edges of the canvas. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
