Artist Biography
Ellen K. Hallett was a painter, embroiderer and teacher, born in Bristol. Hallett attended the Bristol Municipal School of Art in her hometown where her tutors included Reginald Bush, after which she taught art at a local grammar school. She was a member of the Embroiderers' Guild and at the age of 75 spent more than six months completing a fabric collage of Athelhampton House, Dorchester. She exhibited at RA, RBA, RBSA, RE, RCamA, RWA, SGA, SEA and at the SWA and work by her is held in the collection of Derby Museum and Art Gallery.
