The watercolours are often beach scenes with figures and fishing boats and are usually found in pairs. The subjects include South Cost views, Dutch and French town scenes and, occasionally, Venice. This artist is sometimes confused with the 1930s West country cottage and harbour scene painter L. Mortimer, who also signs with an initial but whose signature can be difficult to read.'
