An evocative winter street scene by the Belgian artist Edouard Gofflot, depicting a small village with a windmill, beside a river. Bearing a label on the reverse, from the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Verviers in Belgium. Well-presented in a dark lacquer frame with gold arabesque detailing. Signed and dated and inscribed. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
In fine condition overall. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There is some scuffing, marks and areas of loss to the frame, particularly to the edges, as shown. There is a small crack to the inner part of the frame in the upper left corner.
