Early 20th Century Oil - Lady in Fuchsia

Description

A delightful early 20th century portrait of an elegant lady. The artist has masterfully captured the subject's rosy complexion and fur-trimmed fuchsia dress against a striking teal background. The lady's hair is neatly waved in a graceful style typical of the time. Signed illegibly to the upper left. Dated '1914' to the upper right. Beautifully presented in a gilt frame with shell centre and corner ornaments. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

There are some abrasions to the surface of the painting, however the overall condition is good. Some wear to the frame including a loss to the upper right corner ornament, small areas of stable cracking, and slight separation to the mitre joints.
