A striking early 20th Century portrait of a finely dressed 16th Century Dutch noblewoman. The woman, while dressed in finery of the era, has the telltale signs of a 20th Century touch. Her hair being visible under her cap and the darkened area around the eyes have the undeniable soft Romanticism of the early 20th Century portrait.
The portrait is unsigned and presented in a highly unusual and not often seen Victorian pressed tin frame with crisp, oversize acanthus and diaper corners.
On wood panel.The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Small scratch to the paint in the lower right corner. The frame is in fine condition.
