A scene of domestic tragedy in which a woman comforts her husband on his deathbed while feeding their baby. The work is highly detailed and deftly painted in watercolour and gum arabic. Presented glazed in a white mount and an oak frame with a silver gilt-effect inner edge. Unsigned. On wove.Condition
There is some slight cockling to the substrate and some small marks to the surface. There are some losses to the inner edge of the frame. Overall, the painting is well-presented and in very good condition for its age.
