Description
A charming early 19th-century genre scene depicting a grandmother spinning yarn in the family home, while her grandchild watches with quiet fascination. Rendered in the Dutch tradition, the intimate interior is bathed in warm, golden light streaming through a nearby window. Unsigned. Well presented in a gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Fine craquelure throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals very small areas of restoration. Some wear to the frame, including scuffs, chips and indentations. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
