Description

A delicate coloured mezzotint with crisp plate lines, carved by G M Hester after Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792). The image shows a young woman (Lady Anne Bingham) seated in a yellow dress and straw hat. There is blind stamp at the bottom right inside the plate lines and the plate is inscribed with the method, date, location and publisher. The artist has signed to the bottom right inside the plate lines.

The print is presented in a glazed, gilt frame with floral corner details.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some debris trapped behind the glazing. The frame is in fine condition.

Collection Information

Lady Anne Bingham was the youngest daughter of Charles Bingham, 1st Earl of Lucan. She never married and Reynolds's related portrait (Mannings 173) is at Althorp.
