A skilfully rendered graphite and charcoal study of a foot on blue paper. Smartly presented in an antique wooden frame. Unsigned. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Pinhole marks in each corner. Crease to the upper right. Deckled edges. Light wear to the frame.

Collection Information

Undiscovered for a century, these fine academic studies have lain in a forgotten folio, created in 1885 by an unknown student of the South Kensington School of Art, which later became the Royal College of Art in London. Many are stamped E.S.K., a regular practice for works produced at the art school. Both classical and characterful works make up this eclectic selection, with some framed and ready to add a touch of quiet academic authority to your space.
