An atmospheric impressionist painting of a traditional Dutch Windmill farm in a tranquil countryside setting. The artist has indistinctly signed to the lower right-hand corner, and the painting is beautifully presented in its original gesso frame, with beaded course detail and intricate laurel running pattern. Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration caused by a buildup of surface dirt. There is some craquelure to the surface of the painting, and a small loss to the frame's rebate in the lower right hand corner. There is also a small amount of damage to the back of the gilt frame, possibly caused by previous hanging methods.
