Donald Lewis Rayer was a painter, born at Halstead, Essex who attended Manchester School of Art and for most of his adult life worked in the textile industry in the Manchester area. Rayner was Secretary of the MAFA and showed with them and at the RI, RSA, RBA and at the Paris Salon. He was elected RI in 1966 and is represented in the collections of Manchester City Art Gallery and Stoke-on-Trent Art Gallery.
