Picard captures this serene coastal view through soft, impressionistic brushwork. An inscription to the reverse identifies the location as the Calanques, an area of rugged terrain on the south coast of France. The work is unsigned, but was acquired alongside a signed work by the artist. Additionally, the handwriting on the reverse matches that seen on other works by the artist.
