Attributed to Georges M. Baltus (1874-1967), this charming coastal scene depicts a row of painted beach huts, red windbreaks and beach facilities along a seaside promenade, with figures leisurely strolling to set up pitch for the day. Captured in a modernist style, each structure and figure has been meticulously painted, animating the scene. Well presented in a distressed gilt effect frame. Unsigned. The artwork exhibits signs of wear consistent with age. Minor surface marks/ abrasions are present. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear, including small chips and scuffs. There is a split to the frame's top rail and a loss to the left hand rail (inside edge). Overall, the artwork presents in good condition.
