A child of the Cyclades, the artist Balias draws his greatest inspiration from his native Greece. Introduced to philosophy and mythology at a very young age, he began to take an interest in art during his adolescence before enrolling in the Fine Arts School of Athens.
He then moved back to Paris at the height of the student events of May 68, he quickly integrated into the euphoric life of the French capital, establishing in the 70s, the very particular style that characterizes him until now.
Tired of social life, the painter and his clan decided to acquire the Château de Sérans estate in Normandy in 1992, which he quickly renamed “Atelier Balias”.
