Collection Information

Born 1928 in Sydney, Australia, died 2012 (her birth date is usually given as 1928 but, in fact, it seems to have been 1918 or 1919; her obituary on her death reported her as having been 93 and she was the elder sister of Henty Henty-Creer who was born in 1920 and was lost, in the Second War, in 1943). She had one-man exhibitions in Bond Street and in most countries of the English-speaking world! A past Committee Member of AFAS, her subjects include military art, portraits, ships and landscapes.
Deirdre Henty-Creer FRSA exhibited at the Royal Academy, The NEAC and RBA The Army Art Society and numerous provincial galleries. She was a member of the United Society of Artists and Ridley Art Club. Her first single artist exhibition took place at the Fine Art Society, Bond Street in 1943 and her second at the Cooling Gallery in 1946. In 1948, she was recognised as the youngest participant in the Olympic Games’ Art Competitions.
