Description

A thoroughly charming decoratively sized and presented mid Century oil, showing a quaint and charmingly naive view of St Andrew's Church in Alfriston, East Sussex. The artist has signed to the lower right. The first name is indistinct, starting with D. The painting is beautifully presented in a Victorian wooden box frame. The frame boasts a velvet lined interior (this would likely once have been red but has now discolored to an attractive brown), and a gilt inner frame with exquisite molding. On board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some splitting to the lower right corner of the box frame and some fading to the velvet lining.
