A delightful oil study with gilt detailing depicting an infant Christ with a King. The style is of the South American Cuzco school. The colonisation of Peru by the Spanish in the early 1530's saw an influx of religious iconography from European and indigenous painters in the city of Cuzco.. Unsigned. Well presented in an ornate gilt frame with egg and dart running patterns and a gilt slip. On canvas.

Condition

There is significant paint loss and flaking to the oil, with the inscriptions to the bottom of the piece being almost completely lost. There is some light wear to the gilt frame.
