Cornelius Pearson (1805-1891) was a landscape and topographical painter and also an engraver. He was born in Boston, Lincolnshire and went to London at an early age, whereupon he apprenticed to an engraver. He then began to paint, mainly in watercolour. Pearson exhibited 145 works at Suffolk Street between 1843 and 1879, 4 at the Royal Academy from 1845 until 1872 and also at the New Watercolour Society and elsewhere. He was one of the oldest members of the Langham Sketching Club. Two of his views of Wales are in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
