Clara Knight (1861-1941) - 1898 Gouache A Peaceful River
Description
A very fine landscape study by the British artist Clara Knight (1861-1941), depicting a tranquil river scene. Knight has clearly been inspired by the impressionist movement, evident from the emulated brushwork and use of colour in the water. The study is excellently presented in a double card, washline mount and gilt effect frame. Peter Arnold gallery label fixed to the reverse. Signed and dated. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is very good for a picture of this age. There is some minor discolouration and light foxing, mainly to the sky. Overall in fine condition.
