A charming study depicting a fleet of fishing boats off of the Dutch coast. The painting takes on similar styles and motifs as the work of Edward William Cook (1811-1880) and bears the signature to the lower right. The artist was most likely inspired by Cook's atmospheric nautical scenes often captured in Holland and Venice. Dated 1868. Presented in a glazed part-gilt frame and white card mount. On paper.
