Artist Biography
Marine painter often in watercolours who specialised in historical ships and also some posters and landscape art. He studied at Hornsey School of Art, 1927-1932 and is recorded on the electoral register for 1930 as a 'Commercial Artist' living at the time in Southgate, Middlesex (now London) with his wife Eileen. He exhibited often at the Royal Watercolour Society, New English Art Club and the Royal Society of British Artists. Chris Watkiss also designed a poster of Bath a copy of which is in the collection of the National Railway Museum. His death was recorded in Winterbourne, Wiltshire.
