Description

A fine watercolour landscape by the Hon. Charlotte Somerville, after an original painting by Copley Fielding (1787-1855). In the foreground, the artist has depicted a cattle drover moving two of his herd passed a picturesque river with mountains. The watercolour has been well presented in a decorative gilt frame and slip, with intricate running pattern mouldings. The painting has been inscribed to the reverse with the artist's name. Unsigned. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and water damage to the surface. The picture frame is in a good condition with minor abrasion to the gilt. there are a few small losses to the frame mouldings, and the frame's dust seal is damaged to the reverse.
